Road Biking in Lucca

Every direction we take we will find a nice and picturesque route for our rides, from the Apuane looking to the northwest, the Montalbano south west, the famous Monte Serra going south and the various mountain routes to the north.

When it comes to weather, Lucca offers mild weather all year round (though it can get hot during summer months), but you are not going to miss the sun even through winter time.

You will be always able to perceive the “cycling vibe” all over Lucca.

If there is one thing for sure, it is that if you are passionate about cycling, here you will never feel lonely; it will be almost like finding your cycling tribe.

Lucca is what it’s commonly known as a “hidden gem”.

When you think about Tuscany, Florence and Pisa probably come to your mind.

Situated in one of the most strategic points in Tuscany -between the coast and Pisa Airport (Americo Vespucci, only 33km away)- Lucca is surrounded by forests and vineyards and endless roads to discover by bike.

It’s no wonder why it’s the place many cycling pros -both training and retired- choose it as their home away from home.

It doesn’t matter which direction you take from there, you will always find what you are looking for: good Tarmac routes through rolling vineyards and olive trees, straight roads, alpine climbs and even off-road alternatives.
