Dunes of Zuid
If you have heard from the Netherlands you might know already that is it a pretty flat country and the infrastructure around riding bicycles is probably the best one in all Europe.
One of the best places in the Zuid region if you don’t have to worry about traffic is what locals call “Duinen”, the dunes.
This coastal paved path connects on a large bike lane a big part of the country from Hook of Holland to Zandvoort, a bit more north.
The scenery is beautiful and possibly the wildest one in the Netherlands. You will be surprised with the amount of deer you can spot along the road on the near hills made of sand.
This place can get very busy on weekends from people commuting to the sea and with local cyclists, since is probably the only part of the country where you can do some climbing without having to go south to Maastricht. And it the weather allows, you can always stop for a swim in the ocean!
