How the landscape changes
When I say cycling is not just a sport, what I mean is there's something more to it. I believe being "in the elements" is not a metaphor when you are able to ride through the seasons and experience their different colors, temperatures and textures.
Photo 1 was taken is from less than a week ago: the grass is greener, warmer temperatures and life blooming everywhere.
Photo 2 is from the middle of August last year: the sun shining at it's peak, green being replaced by brown. Long, warm days.
Photo 3 is from the end of Autumn: everything getting ready for another winter. Golden leaves and chilled afternoons.
The power of repetition allows me to ride through the same place and see it changing, reminding me of my own cyclicity. This is what I mean when I say cycling is not just a sport, but a way of getting to know oneself.
